Mama Stories

We are so excited to start this weekly feature. Mama stories is a place to get to know a few of you amazing mamas and hear a little about you and your little ones and your breastfeeding relationships. We are here to uplift and support each other so let's hear what you have to say.  Something humorous perhaps? Or an obstacle you had to overcome and are now so happy you did. We want to keep things light hearted and help future moms know that all those little hiccups are oh so worth it. Want to tell your story?
Here's what we need from you:

  1. your story (nothing too lengthy please)
  2. a picture of you and your little one(s) *it doesn't need to be a breastfeeding photo
  3. email images and story to weheartbf(at)gmail.com
*by sending us your story and images you are giving us the right to use some or all of your story on all social media platforms without approval of final edit. We will be letting you know a week in advance that your story will be featured*

Once your story is posted we would love for you to share on Facebook, Twitter, etc. If you are a blogger we will have a banner that you will be able to display on your sidebar stating that  you were featured on our blog. Be sure to come back each week and get to know other mamas as well.  We can't wait to hear your stories.

One Year

We don't often use this platform for personal stories but heck why not? The picture above is of my son Wolf and myself moments after he was born. This little boy was six weeks early and gave us a bit of a scare with his early arrival. Luckily he was perfectly healthy and only spent a few hours in the NICU. I have to admit that when the word "preemie" came around there was an immediate fear that came over me especially in the breastfeeding department. I was fortunate that I delivered in a very breastfeeding friendly hospital and they completely encouraged skin to skin and nursing on demand. That is exactly what I did and to be honest besides being out in public there was a no shirt policy in our house for the first six weeks of his life. I was very fortunate that there were very minimal speed bumps in our breastfeeding relationship.

Fast forward to a year later and we are still breastfeeding and he could not he healthier. We have entered the VERY distracted nursing session stage and if any of you have nursed a toddler you know what I am talking about. But I would not have it any other way. I am so happy to continue my breastfeeding relationship with my baby.
Love,
Leslie

The day of the Event *The Big Latch On*

We had the pleasure of hosting The Big Latch On event with a local cloth diaping store Little Bums N More. We were so pleased with the turn out a ton of local mamas with their little ones in toe came for the fun.  We had some amazing companies like Moby Wrap and Bamboobies donate items for our raffle and one lucky lady even got a free session with our own Heidi Helser. It was wonderful to meet some mamas and get to participate in such a neat event.
